If you are a Data Engineer and looking forward to working in Publicis Sapient, you have come to the right place. Although I am not a Data Engineer, I have worked with different people on multiple projects over time. During those interactions, I have analyzed the work-life of various people. But first, let’s dive into an introduction to Data Engineers and their work nature.
Who
are Data Engineers?
Data Engineers and Data Scientists work
closely, and their work often overlaps in the organization. Data Engineers develop,
test and maintain data pipelines, which are used by Data Scientists for
analysis. In general, Data Engineers work on technologies such as Big Data,
Java, Python, SQL, NoSQL, Cloud Computing, GCP, AWS S3 storage. Data Scientists
use Python and Machine Learning algorithms for data analysis and present data
visually using tools like Power BI or custom platforms. Data Analysts who work
on data visualization and cleaning on small data sets, grow into either of these
two categories as per their inclinations.
Generally, a Data Engineer's job is not
demanding as it is not time-critical work. But in some cases, data cleaning and
pipeline building are difficult due to complex/incomplete data.
Work
Culture at Publicis Sapient for Data Engineers
I cannot specifically tell about the work
culture for Data Engineers as every project has a different work environment
and ambience. In my team, managers are cool, empathic and caring. I frequently
get appreciations or small rewards for hard work in the form of evening snacks
and small gifts.
Work-life balance is again dependent on the
team’s structure, individual communication skills and work responsibilities. In
sprint planning, work is defined for two weeks with some bandwidth for
exigencies. Daily scrum meetings result in better expectations and efficiency
even during remote working.
Overall, the work culture at Publicis Sapient
is wonderful for me as I get ample learning and growth opportunities. Last
year, I got opportunities to lead my team and did well without any prior
experience. My work and efforts were recognized by the manager, and I got work
responsibilities accordingly. Read a few of the Publicis Sapient reviews of
people at your experience level to get a better picture.
